we went with my family to the state fair yesterday. the kids were sooo excited. drew's favorite was probably the pony rides and the merry-go-round. we did so much stuff, the fair is huge!
we ate really greasy food(yummy at first, then i felt like puking)and saw a cool show with live brown bears.
i am amazed at how many farm animals are there. drew liked those too. aiden's favorite, as well as mine, was the big yellow slide.
i wish there was one set up by my house. it's so fun!!!
the family decided to get some funnel cake, but the group got split up and my mom bought 3 and my sister bought 2(not knowing the other had bought any)and there is definitely a cap on how much funnel cake one can eat. we all reached ours!!!
at the end of the day we were all exhausted and dirty (wow were we dirty) but it was worth it.
Thanks family, for a great day!
i love you guys!

remembering...
in Sandy there is a field of flags.
"healing field"
they've been putting it up every year to honor the victims of sept. 11th.
it's amazing to see all the flags together, but
more sobering is that each flag represents a person killed in the 9-11 attacks.
there are 3,031 flags.
for more info on it click here
it is a really cool thing that the people at colonial flags have put together.

maybe?????
aiden has been sleeping in our guest bedroom, by his request!
we were surprised to hear this because we were thinking about getting the boys bunk beds for their room.
so the boys have their own rooms now.
i thought since we wanted to re-do the guest bedroom anyway, we could let aiden help us pick out his color and decor.
he loved this in the land of nod catalog.
i saw this a while ago on the Graham & Brown website.
i love it. i would do just one wall.
we're still deciding...
i'll let you know how his new room turns out!

food and wine festival...
for the first time we went to the food and wine festival at sundance.
it was so delicious! the weather was perfect...
warm and a bit overcast, it even rained for a bit.
i was glad i brought my umbrella.
i wish i took pics of the food, everything was beautiful and yummy!
i will say i felt pretty bloated for the rest of the day.
two hours of eating, even small portions,
is a lot!!!
i would do it again though,
i'm glad it's only once a year
for that reason!
happy birthday dawn & mom

cool summer nights
We took the boys up to summer theatre at sundance. We ate at the Grill Room before we went up the hill to the ampitheatre. YUMMY! That was a treat since I never get to eat up there. It was so fun to snuggle up in blankets and watch the play under the stars. The boys were great for the first half. Once the lights came up during intermission Drew was pretty wound up. But ot was a fun family date!!!

4th of july festivities...
later our families came over to play and have a bbq. my mom brought a volleyball net, which dan put together, yes again cranky, but to give him credit it looked like a pain in the a**.
it was fun seeing my sis and dan get competitive, and i'm sure it was funny watching me play in a dress. ha ha. we played with water balloons, did tons of sparklers and finished off the night with fireworks!!!
sleepover with journee
we were so happy to have journee stay over. we skyped barbie, played the wii, ran around outside and had lots of fun! the next day we went to the freedom fest carnival. journee, we love you! you are welcome anytime!
